Super Bowl Party Decoration Ideas, Recipes, and Party Ideas!

Super Bowl weekend is this weekend!
How excited are you?
Who is gonna win?
What are your plans?
Well, may I suggest, having a super bowl party for your gal pals!
The Super Bowl isn't just for guys you know!
Here are some great tips and suggestions from yours truly on having the best Girl's Super Bowl party ever!

Decoroations:

Pink Footsies:
Instantly glamafy your party by adding these cute, pink, sparkly footballs to any table arrangement, appetizer bar, couch, or just anywhere!

Need:
Mini footballs
Pink paint
hot glue gun
pink jewels or sparkles
paintbrushes

Instructions:
1. Take the mini football, your pink paint, and your paintbrushes and paint the entire thing pink!  (Except maybe the white lace is you do not wish to decorate this or if you would prefer it being white.)
Extra tip: Set it out to dry, and do the same thing with the rest of the footballs while it is drying!

2. Take the hot glue gun and your pink sparkles and bedazzle it!
Extra tip: If you want to get snazzy, use these tracers to add the team logos!

3. Let dry and make sure all jewels and glitter are on completely and properly!
4. Place wherever you want! Here are a few of my suggestions:
  1.  The middle of the snack table
  2.  As a table centerpiece or add to any table arrangement
  3.  Put on the couch like a throw pillow!
  4.  Put next to the TV, but make sure its in the corner and not in the way!
  5.  On top of small things around your house that will be noticed. Ex: the toilet, the counter, in a windowsill, next to the door, etc.

Recipe:

My Mom's Guac
Everyone loves this creamy, perfect guacamole at any party! And your friends will be so impressed you made it, and will just beg you for your secret recipe! Sssh, don't tell.

4 avocados
1 large bowl
1 lemon
1 onion
1/2 teaspoon of salt
A spoon

Instructions:

1. Take the avocados and empty out the flesh into the large bowl.
2. Use the spoon to stir around until it is in a nice mixture with the consistency of toothpaste.
3. Squeeze a little bit from a slice of lemon into the mixture and stir.
4. Chop up the onion
5. Add 1/4 cup of onion and stir
6. Add the salt and stir again
7. Cover in Seran wrap and set in fridge.
8. Enjoy!

Tip: Pair with salsa-flavored chips for a perfect and zesty flavor!

Party Idea:

Gamblin' Square:

Need:
1 large poster board
1 ruler
1 black Sharpie

Instructions:

  1. Draw lines dividing the poster board into 11 x 11 squares (draw 10 lines horizontal, and 10 vertical).
  2. On the top edge write one Team Name, on the left edge write the other Team Name
  3. Have people ‘buy squares’ for $1 each.
  4. People write their name in any of the inside 10×10 squares (it’s random).
  5. After all the squares have been filled up, grab the deck of cards.
  6. Fill in the top edge with numbers 0-9 using the deck of cards to make the numbers random.
  7. Do the same for the left edge.
How to Play:
Pay out $5 for every score change.  $10 for the Half-time score, and whatever is left for the Final score!  Use the one’s digit of the score to determine the number.
At kick-off, whoever has the square 0, 0 wins $5!  Then when the score changes, whoever has the square for that score wins $5!
For example: if the Giants score a field goal first, then whoever has Giants 3, Patriots 0 wins $5!  Then, let’s say the Patriots score a TD next.  Whoever’s name is written the square with Packers 3, Patriots 6 wins $5.  Naturally, the Patriots will likely kick a PAT (point after touchdown), so whoever has Giants 3, Patriots 7 ALSO wins $5!

Have fun with your party! And enjoy the commercials for once!

A Few Poems I love by my favorite poet

Okay, so I am just in love with this girls work! I recently came across it while scanning through my emails.
I'm not sure why, and maybe she can answer for me, but she sent them to me in the hopes of me publishing them on my blog.

Well Amanda, guess what! You made it! I loved these poems, they are young, fresh, new, and hip and are written by a 15 year old girl. So they are easily related to younger generations and older generations alike.
Speaking of death, joy, and love, I can easily connect with her work.
She is insanely talented and I hope she goes far! Good luck! I'm your first fan! (I love your name by the way!)
I hope you guys enjoy these poems as much as I did!

Old Times
These walls I built,
Are crashing to the ground,
These songs I write,
Are nothing more than my frown,
This world I spin,
Is just another lie,
Cause' I can never win,
No, it is never far from goodbye,
Stop it all,
Because you don't know me,
As I am crippled,
You force me to crawl,
These words are said,
These swords are bled,
Stop pretending you know who I am,
Because you are so far off,
So far off I lost sight of it all,
So far gone, so far away,
So far from everything worth the time of day.

Caged In
I need help,
I need you to unlock those doors,
To free me from what I find inside,
To help me escape from my second side,
Scraping as the days go by,
Wishing you were at my side,
Craddle me, nurture me,
Give me what I need,
under this skin is a girl who will bleed,
The tiniest poke, the smallest joke,
Will puncture though this crocodile skin,
I may seem so strong,
I may seem to win,
But what is the truth?
When all I've known are things that lye on my roof?
Tell me whats real for once,
Let me in this dark hell hole,
Because once you go in,
There is no going back,
So baby, you better pack,
Because there is no going back.

Frost
Baby don't let go,
The world is falling now,
Please just close your eyes,
It will be alright,
I won't leave you here,
But for now,
Close those gems and enjoy the night,
You have finished this fight,
When wake up in the morning you'll be alright,
You'll be okay,
The world is on fire,
Don't open those pearls,
Baby girl I'll fix your desire,
I love you as much as I love this sad world,
Now let it go,
It'll be all told,
When I tuck you in,
Just close those eyes,
Just close those pretty stones,
It'll be alright

Ella, my Baby Girl
Lay down you head,
The world is flashing by,
Close your eyes,
Feel nothing,
No dread,
Fall into the world,
Of never ending sleep,
Let this poison,
Turn to sweet nectarine,
Let this life,
Fall behind your path,
Oh, Ella, my sweet girl,
The fur on your face,
The trot to your heel,
The white road to you,
I follow it up to where you belong,
Because at the end of the day,
The mark you let on us,
Is a sweet song,
I sing to you, sweet girl,
So toast to us,
To what we did,
To the lives you have changed,
To the people you have touched,
To the world you had to meet,
To you lullaby I sing.

Highway Baby
Some people come in your life,
And they are only passing by,
The life you live,
People come and go,
Live and die,
Leave and stay,
But at the end of the day,
The ones who love you the most,
Are the ones who are in love with your day and night,
Who aren't afraid to fight,
They are the ones who are at your side,
To help you do whats right.

Tunnels
Oh the world is crumbling now,
Crashing to the ground,
Crushing those in its way,
Will I ever be found,
Who loves me enough to dig,
Through their fears?
To tear down walls?
And anything that nears?

Faithful Forever
Oh the rain,
It tumbles down from the sky,
Like tears of heaven,
Throwing lost souls to hell,
Reconcile,
Live for God,
Rain falls for the sorrow of those in pain,
And reminds you of the immensity of our Lord.

Cliffs
Don't run away tonight,
Because you are the only one who understands
what I feel inside,
Mountain blue, rivers change,
But please don't leave me,
Home on the Range,
But where is my home?
Where do I fit?
Once I questioned everything I believe in,
And it made me stronger,
So maybe diving in the oceans,
Will bring us back to day,
So come with me tonight,
Rest your head and lay,
Have no worries, have no fears,
Raining down on you is my own cure,
For what hurts me,
Is what you cannot see.
